          On 4th-5th December 2019, Professor MI Hong - doctoral supervisor in School of Public Affairs of Zhejiang University, deputy director of Center for Non-Traditional Security & Peaceful Development Studies in Zhejiang University, laboratory for Pop. Big Data & Policy Simulation in Zhejiang University, executive chairman of MAYINCHU Research Association, deputy chairman of MAYINCHU Population Welfare Foundation - was invited by International Labour Organization (ILO) and International Social Security Association (ISSA) to deliver academic reports in ILO headquarters in Geneva.

          On the afternoon of December 4th, Professor MI delivered a speech named "The challenge of population super-aging and the policy innovation of social security in China (2019-2070)". Starting from the perspective of China's population, Professor MI introduced typical parameters such as the birth rate, the average age of the population, the ratio of men to women, the proportion of the labor force and the elderly population through typical cases. Based on this, the opportunities and challenges that China faces in terms of population are analyzed, and corresponding solutions are proposed.

          On the morning of December 5th, Professor MI went to ILO headquarters for a visit and published two academic reports.

          During the visit, Professor MI met with Mr. Rafael Diez de Medina, Director of the Statistics Department of ILO. During the talks, Professor MI shared the current status of China's population development. Both sides agreed that there is a lot of room for cooperation in future population research.

          After the talks, Professor MI issued two keynote speeches. The first was about the Policy Top-Design and Simulation Research of Chinese Pension and Long-term Care System (2014-2050). Beginning with the background of China's Old-age insurance policy, Professor MI shared the reform method of China's old-age Insurance system, proposed three pillars of pensions (the first pillar: The foundational Pension of China; the second pillar: The Nominal Defined Contribution; the third Pillar: Enterprise Annuity and Professional Annuity), and put forward the short-term goals (2014-2020) and long-term goals (2021-2050) of China's Old-age Insurance reform. The second academic report was named "Population Super-Aging Forecasting and An Introduction to DCMD". Professor MI shared the predictions of China's super-aging society and introduced the Developing Countries Mortality Database (DCMC), which was created by him.

          Nearly 20 experts and officials from ILO and ISSA attended the report and exchanged opinions, including Mr. Rafael Diez de Medina, Director of the Statistics Department of ILO, Mr. Raúl Ruggia-Frick, Head of Center for Excellence Knowledge of ISSA, Mr. Zhu Yukun, senior expert on social security of ISSA, and Ms. Tengku Andi Zarhana Puteri, Project officer of ISSA.
